Glass flake coatings are heavy-duty protective coating reinforced with thin, flat glass particles. In today’s time, these coatings are preferred for critical industrial assets because they provide a superior physical barrier that outperforms standard paints in extreme conditions.

The primary mechanism of a glass flake coating is the creation of a tortuous path. Thousands of tiny glass flakes overlap within the resin matrix like fish scales. This forced alignment makes it 5–20 times harder for corrosive ions, moisture, and gases to penetrate the coating and reach the underlying substrate.

Glass Flake coating is a two pack cold cured isophatalic modified resin based coating system co-polymerized with acrylic polymer reinforced with treated micronized glass flake. This coating provides a tough impermeable barrier which is suitable for steel and concrete surfaces. Glass flake coating gives excellent resistance in marine, under severe chemical environment/corrosive.
